History
This school was
established in 1963 with 3 teachers and 90 pupils, but grew steadily to
about 250 pupils during the 70’s.
The school has always
had a real family atmosphere about it with many long serving staff,
happy well mannered children and a keen, hard working band of supportive
parents.
Uniform
In 1989, at a Public
Meeting on the Fair Discipline Code it was unanimously passed that
School Uniform be compulsory dress at Charlestown South Public School.
This was confirmed again in 1994 in a parent survey.
The uniform is
reasonably cheap and as well the P & C conduct a clothing pool where
good, used uniforms are available for purchase at a very reasonable
cost.

the School Uniform.
Voluntary Contributions
An annual general school
contribution, the level of which is set by the School and the P & C,
contributes to the cost of student exercise books, resource preparation,
communication bulletins, etc. Parents are advised of the current level
on the enrolment of their child. We encourage payment of the
contribution early in Term 1, but it may be paid in installments each
term.
Parents are also asked
to pay each year for the provision of special workbooks and excursions,
cultural shows and other activities which may occur during the year.
